Peter Gabriel

Peter Gabriel foi, em 1967, um dos membros fundadores dos Genesis banda que abandonou cerca de dez anos depois para se dedicar a uma carreira a solo.
Os seus primeiros quatro albuns não receberam titulo, por vontade do cantor que os queria considerar o mesmo trabalho, apenas constava o seu nome na capa e mudava a arte das capas ficando conhecidos por PETER GABRIEL I, II, III e IV. Posteriormente os albuns foram rebaptizados de I - Car, II - Scratch, III - Melt e IV - Security de acordo com a arte da capa dos discos.

No meio disto havia dois de que eu até gostei e três ou quatro que nem tive o prazer de ouvir para poder dizer mal - 2 em 50 o resultado nem está mau para mim...

Deixem que diga que a meu ver houve algumas injustiças nesta votação:
1º- porque é que só havia um disco da Celine Dion, da Jennifer Lopez, da Jessica Simpson na lista decidiram não repetir "artistas"? ou ninguém votou nelas mais do que uma vez? o que eu não acredito...
2º- como é que a Britney Spears conseguiu fugir ao top? e a Kylie Minogue? e Genesis ou pelo menos o Phil Collins? e o Ricky Martin?????????????
3º- Podiam ter referido algumas menções honrosas pra gente saber quem é que esteve quase a chegar lá.

Kate Bush

Mais uma das minhas cantoras preferidas (sim, eu sei, são às dezenas).
Estreou-se nas lides da música com 19 aninhos e com aquela que é, ainda hoje passados mais 30 anos, a sua canção mais conhecida: "Whutering Heigths" inspirado no livro com o mesmo titulo escrito por Emily Bronte que nasceu no mesmo dia que Kate Bush, 30 de Julho (mas com alguns - bastantes anos de diferença).
O single atingiu o primeiro lugar do top britânico onde ficou por quatro semanas e tornou-a a primeira interprete feminina no Reino Unido a atingir o 1º lugar do top com uma canção escrita pela própria.

Ao longo dos seus mais de trinta anos de carreira e apesar de ter composto mais de 200 músicas, Kate Bush lançou apenas 8 álbuns de originais:

Para que conste esta música (Rock Me Amadeus) chegou a número um dos tops nos EUA e no Reino Unido - o que é excelente para um musico que canta principalmente em alemão.







Não sei se percebem alemão mas deixo-vos um último vídeo (com as respectivas letras) e explico-vos o conceito da canção:
Uma história contada por um violador e possível assassino (lindo não é?) o que levou a que a canção fosse "censurada" por várias rádios. Embora não tenha atingido o sucesso de "Rock Me Amadeus" (nos EUA passou despercebida) foi um enorme sucesso por toda a Europa.
